Dan and Judith are off to Sao Paulo next week to facilitate the first Innovation Dialogues event at the Connected Cities Summit.

Innovation Dialogues is a programme to spark bilateral partnerships between the UK and Brazil with the aim of accelerating innovation for sustainable cities.  Through the programme we will help to forge closer links between universities, research organisations, the public and private sector in Brazil and the UK. The programme also aims to build knowledge pool for innovators through mentoring, research reports, competition entries and events.

The Connected Cities Summit will bring British and Brazilian stakeholders from the public, private and academic sectors to discuss urban development and mobility.  The main objectives are to showcase British expertise in planning and technologies, to share lessons learned and experience gained in overcoming common urban challenges, and to discuss how such solutions could be applied by Brazilian cities.

We will be launching the “GREAT Cities Competition: Innovative Solutions for Urban Challenges”, where Brazilian city representatives will apply to win a week long study visit to explore innovation and sustainability in UK cities. Competition details can be found here from Monday 9 June: www.usefulprojects.co.uk/cidadescompeticao
