Huge congratulations to Jo who has won the national Women in Science and Engineering Excellence Award. This award is for women at the start of their career who are already showing tremendous potential to become a leader in the STEM sector.
Jo was presented with the award by HRH The Princess Royal, at a glittering awards ceremony at the Science Museum.
Jo will be using her £1000 cash prize to fund a workshop on sustainability careers for talented girls taking STEM subjects at AS Level.
On receiving the award, Jo said “I’m absolutely honoured to win this prestigious award, I really didn’t expect to! It’s great to be recognised for my career achievements and role promoting the sustainable design and construction profession to students. I’m really looking forward to what the next few years of my career have in store. My role as a STEM Ambassador is important to me, and I’m fully committed to carry on raising awareness about the exciting, varied and rewarding careers associated with sustainability and the built environment.”
