The Green Construction Board champions the implementation of the Government’s Sustainable Construction Strategy and low carbon infrastructure agenda. We were invited to research and develop ways of communicating key approaches for sustainable construction.

Useful Projects developed the content and worked with our in-house graphic and communication designers thomas.matthews on the artwork for the Green Construction Board’s “Twenty Steps for Greening the Construction Industry” project.

Working with representatives from the Green Construction Board working groups, we developed tips and actions on carbon, water, waste, materials, and biodiversity,  and subsequently launched the project at Ecobuild 2013. For the exhibition we developed information graphics, takeaway guides and a suggestions wall for visitors to pin up their own tips for greening the industry, which proved to be a great way to get industry representatives engaged.

Our stand attracted a lot of attention, and by the end of Ecobuild, the suggestions wall was full and was tweeted about by numerous prominent industry organisations.

The “Twenty Steps for Greening the Construction Industry” are on the Green Construction Board’s website, and the initiative has been featured in industry magazines.
