The Energy Toolkit for Buildings in Rio is now live!
The toolkit describes the feasibility of building scale renewable energy technology and energy efficient design techniques in Rio, and provides links to useful resources.
Through our work on the Sustainability Strategy for the Rio 2016 Olympic Park, it became apparent that guidance on the use of appropriate small scale renewable energy technologies for Brazil, and specifically Rio, doesn’t exist.
In October 2012, we received funding to develop a toolkit of useful guidance to help planners and developers address sustainable energy issues in new developments and major refurbishments for buildings in Rio.
Instead of producing a report as an output, we created a website, in English and Portuguese, allowing the information to be accessible and useful to a much wider audience.
