BNP Paribas, the international banking group, has a strong corporate social responsibility agenda and is committed to reducing its supply chain carbon emissions. They appointed Useful Projects to establish a sustainable procurement framework for carbon reduction, and to run supplier engagement workshops.
Our starting point was a sustainable procurement maturity assessment and action plan to improve BNP Paribas’ approach. Useful Projects is now supporting BNP Paribas to put in place documentation, processes and employee engagement activities.
Supplier engagement is a key component of an organisation’s approach to sustainable procurement. We designed and facilitated a supplier engagement workshop on behalf of BNP Paribas, which was attended by major suppliers including Vodafone, Ricoh, AXA, CBRE, ISS and KPMG. A number of opportunities for reducing supply chain carbon emissions were identified, action plans were developed, and new business relationships were formed.
