Founded in 2008, Useful Projects brought together sustainability leadership and consultancy experience from the London 2012 Olympics, widely regarded as the most sustainable games ever.

As part of the Useful Simple Trust, we have over 20 years’ experience of working together to deliver our purpose to ‘blaze a trail in the regeneration of our built and natural environment to meet the needs of all people and the planet’.

More recently this purpose has been recognised as one of the first built environment companies to become a B Corp. We have gone on to grow our depth of technical experience and practical action with organisations across the world.

Our team are recognised as industry leaders in sustainability, and part of our trail blazing mission is about sharing what we do for the wider benefit of the sectors we work in.

UST is committed to leadership on climate action, through our projects and through the way we operate our business. In line with best practice, we have calculated our corporate carbon footprint, set official science-based targets, and developed a Carbon Reduction Plan.
