Useful Projects was commissioned to develop an overarching Sustainability Strategy for Oxford University Development Ltd (OUD), a joint venture between Oxford University (OU) and Legal & General (L&G).
With an exciting and varied portfolio across eight sites, the two largest will be developed as innovation districts, providing space for OU and private sector research, as well as commercial spinouts from the University. The remaining six sites will provide much needed affordable housing for staff and graduate students, helping the University to attract the brightest minds from around the globe whilst alleviating pressure within Oxford’s private housing market.
Ongoing support
As part of our appointment, we are providing ongoing support to help OUD embed and implement the Sustainability Strategy. A long-term portfolio approach offers significant opportunities to use investment to help Oxford tackle specific environmental and social challenges.
A key focus of the Strategy is in delivering Social Impact for disadvantage communities and investing in inclusive active travel routes, providing access to the numerous employment opportunities that will be created.
Working with our sister company, Thomas.Matthews, we have developed the Sustainability Strategy and Annual Reports to ensure branding consistency throughout.
