She leads Useful Projects, providing strategic direction and overseeing project delivery. Known for her practical approach, strong people skills and ability to build solutions that stick, Jo works with clients to turn sustainability ambitions into real outcomes.

Jo is a recognised thought leader in social value and sustainability. She was the lead author of the Institution of Civil Engineers’ guidance Maximising Social Value from Infrastructure Projects, wrote the sustainability chapter of the Association for Project Management’s Body of Knowledge, and has co-authored the social value chapter in University College London’s ESG in Real Estate (ICE Publishing).

A regular conference speaker, Jo shares practical insights on social value, sustainability leadership and embedding sustainability into project management and decision-making.

Alongside her client work, Jo is a Trustee of the Useful Simple Trust, contributing to its governance, culture and long-term development.
