The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) estates department commissioned Useful Projects to conduct Future Trends Research to research risks and opportunities across Political, Economic, Societal, Technological, Legal, and Environmental spectrums (PESTLE).
From climate change and pressure on resources, globalisation, rapid technological advancements, cultural shifts in student expectations, to evolving Mayoral priorities; the changes were far-reaching.
With institutions seeking to understand more about future trends, this knowledge allows them to inform their strategic planning by:
- Anticipating trends,
- Adapting to take advantage of changes to improve their performance,
- Continuing to look ahead and evolve their strategies accordingly.
The study’s aim was to enable LSE to make fully informed decisions on strategic planning and sustainability management by understanding how they could be impacted by a range of external factors.
